Poland activates aircraft after Russia attacks Ukraine's west

Poland has activated aircraft to safeguard its airspace after Russia launched missiles and drones at Ukraine’s Lviv region. The Polish armed forces observed “intensive long-range aviation activity” related to air and missile strikes in Ukraine. Ukraine reported that Russia launched approximately 20 missiles and seven Shahed attack drones at Lviv, near the Polish border. Multiple explosions were reported in Kyiv, but no hits were reported in Lviv. Both Polish and allied aircraft have been activated to ensure the security of Polish airspace.
