Teoscar Hernández becomes first Dodgers player to win the Home Run Derby

Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Teoscar Hernández won the 2024 MLB Home Run Derby, defeating Kansas City Royals shortstop Bobby Witt Jr. in a close match. Hernández hit 14 home runs in the final round, becoming the first Dodgers player and seventh Dominican-born player to win the event. Witt Jr. came close to forcing a tiebreaker but fell short with his final hit. The Home Run Derby featured a new format with limited pitches for each participant. The All-Star Game will conclude Major League Baseball’s All-Star weekend.
