UnitedHealth Stock Falls After Cyberattack Dims Outlook

A prominent player in the healthcare industry reported its third-quarter earnings, revealing ongoing repercussions from a cyberattack on its Change Healthcare division, a significant medical-claims clearinghouse. The cyber incident from February is projected to diminish earnings by 75 cents per share, reflecting a 10-cent increase from prior projections. Consequently, the company has adjusted its expected earnings, after excluding one-time items, to a range of $27.50 to $27.75 per share for the year. This revision has reduced the high end of its previous guidance by 25 cents.
